Rinehart Trial Decision Due July 24th

Oklahoma County District Judge Jerry Bass is expected to rule on July 24th whether County Commissioner Brent Rinehart will stand trial on felony charges.

The judge's ruling is expected after arguments made Tuesday by attorneys for Rinehart, former campaign manager Tim Pope and donor Ray Pelfrey. Their attorneys argued that prosecutors don't have sufficient evidence to sustain conspiracy, money laundering and perjury charges. However, a second donor who received a deferred sentence for cooperating with investigators will provide such evidence, prosecutors said.
