Soros Group Provides Obama Policy Ideas

In many ways it is. The product is ideas.

Thanks in part to funding from benefactors such as billionaire George Soros, the Center for American Progress has become in just five years an intellectual wellspring for Democratic policy proposals, including many that are shaping the agenda of the new Obama administration.

Jones: MoveOn.org Attacks Boost Fallin

State Republican Party Chairman Gary Jones today said radio commercials from the far left MoveOn.org, funded by ultra-liberal George Soros, attacking Fifth District Congresswoman Mary Fallin will only boost her campaign for re-election.

“Thanks, Move On,” Jones said. “All you are doing is reminding Oklahoma voters that Mary Fallin has been a key leader in the House for alleviating our energy crisis. These silly ads will backfire on the left and the George Soros-Hollywood crowd that financed them.

Jones said the commercials, which accuse Fallin of supporting “big oil” by calling for more drilling, ignore her sponsorship of the American Energy Act, which would also strengthen conservation efforts and fund aggressive research and development of alternative energy sources- an approach called “all of the above.”

“Move On called General David Petraeus, the leader of the American military forces in Iraq, 'General Betray Us' because he wanted to win the war and disagreed with their calls for immediate surrender,” Jones said. “They are a voice for the far left, and they are so far out of touch with the beliefs of Oklahomans that their ads will simply make most people mad at them.”

Jones said five Move On representatives delivered a petition to Fallin’s Oklahoma City district office this week.

“They came in cars,” he said. “They really should have been there thanking Mary Fallin for working to relieve high gas prices. Their time would be better spent asking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stop blocking a vote on the American Energy Act to allow our country to move on all fronts to increase domestic energy supplies from all sources.”

Rice's New Campaign Manager Tied To Ultra-Liberal Gun-Grabber George Soros

Andrew Rice's new campaign manager has been an employee of ultra-liberal gun-grabber George Soros and has worked for the Democratic Party's most liberal candidates, a Republican group's spokesman said today.

“Bringing in the hired guns to run a nastier campaign tells me he’s in a tough spot and will stop at nothing to win," said Matt Pinnell, director of Oklahoma Victory 2008. "The addition of two former Clinton for President staffers is just the first of what we expect to be many extreme makeovers in Andrew Rice’s campaign. His message was rejected by members of his own party, so no doubt the next makeover will be a refining of his personal image: new issues and new values.”

Pinnell said the addition of Geri Prado and Phil Singer by Rice to his top campaign spots won't help Rice following his "lackluster" primary showing, in which he got 59 percent against an opponent who didn't campaign and spent no money.

Singer, Rice's new communications guru, Pinnell said, "is a veteran of personal attack politics, serving on Senator John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign and as spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee before joining Hillary Clinton’s unsuccessful presidential campaign. During his time with the Clinton campaign, Singer made headlines for tying Senator Barack Obama to members of terrorist organization Weather Underground, which some observers called an attempt at 'swiftboating' Senator Obama.

Prado, Pinnell said, served as John Kerry’s New Mexico state director in 2004 and has a background in union organizing, having worked as the political director for Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 105 in Colorado.

Said Pinnell: "Prado also worked in New Mexico for billionaire George Soros’ America Coming Together (ACT), which was recently fined $775,000 by the FEC for illegally financing its field activities, the third-largest fine by the FEC ever."

National Group Airs SCHIP Commercial

A national liberal group with ties to George Soros' MoveOn.org is on the air with a critical radio commercial asking Oklahomans to contact Republlican Congressman Tom Cole about his vote on the controversial chidren's insurance measure known as SCHIP.

Americans United For Change, D. C.-based group that espouses "progressive" issues, has been a constant critic of President Bush; it originally was formed to protest Bush's plan for Social Security.

Columnist Rips 'Character Assassination Attack Ad'

By David Limbaugh At http://www.townhall.com ~ I don't think nearly enough has been made of the despicable MoveOn.org character assassination attack ad against General David Petraeus and the Democratic leadership's striking refusal to repudiate it. If you want to see the face of the modern Democratic Party, re-read that ad. The full-page New York Times ad, reportedly purchased at a radical discount, directly accused Petraeus of "cooking the books for the White House," called him "a military man constantly at war with the facts," and said he "is likely to become "General Betray Us." Limbaugh writes, in part: "With today's Democratic Party, we are witnessing the full-blown resurrection of the far antiwar left of 1972, but with a sinister twist. This institution is more than the political vehicle for the antiwar movement and other leftist causes. It has become a highly refined and lavishly funded character assassination machine that relies more on ad hominem attacks than debating the merits of issues to win elections and advance its policy agenda."

Taylor Names Gun Control Advocate Interim Chief

Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor has named gun control advocate David Bostrom as the city's new interim police chief.

Bostrom, a former commander in the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC (site of the most stringent gun control in the nation) and the Wilmington, Delaware, police department, has been working as a independent contractor and consultant to Street Law, Inc.

Street Law, Inc., in partnership with the Soros Foundation, is establishing an Open Society Street Law Program which currently involves 13 countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The goals of this program are to provide training and technical assistance to partner country teams. The Soros Foundation is headed by billionaire gun control advocate George Soros.

Directly and through his organization Open Society Institute (OSI), Soros (pictured) has funded various gun control organizations, such as the Tides Foundation, the HELP Network and SAFE Colorado. He and seven friends founded their own political committee — Campaign for a Progressive Future — and spent $2 million on political activities in 2000, including providing the prime financial backing for the Million Mom March. OSI has supported UN efforts to create international gun control regulations and has singled out the United States for failing to go along with the international consensus on protective gun control measures.

Bostrom has 35 years of police experience, including work commanding the Special Operations Division of the Washington D.C. police department. He has been active in the International Association of Chiefs of Police, an organization that supported the Clinton gun ban (AKA "The Brady Bill") and opposes concealed carry by law-abiding citizens. The IACP has received millions of dollars in funding from the ultra-liberal, anti-gun Joyce Foundation.

Bostrom is not a candidate for the permanent police chief's position, Taylor and Bostrom said.

Taylor declined to name a chief from within the department; three officers applied and when they were passed over, a legal challenge was mounted. Taylor contracted with an out-of-state firm to recommend potential chiefs to her. That action fueled speculation that Taylor, a charter member of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's coalition of mayors with gun control as an agenda item, wanted a pro-gun control chief.
