Shannon Named To GOPAC Advisory Board

T. W. Shannon
Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Matt Pinnell announced today that House Speaker-designate T.W. Shannon has been named to the GOPAC Legislative Leaders Advisory Board:

“I’d like to congratulate Speaker-designate Shannon on this prestigious appointment. Speaker-designate Shannon is one of our rising stars in the Republican Party nationally and GOPAC will benefit greatly from his leadership," Pinnell said.

Former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts and former Governor Frank Keating have both served as previous Chairmen of GOPAC. Speaker-designate Shannon is the first Oklahoma state legislator to be named to the Legislative Leaders Advisory Board.

Shannon, age 33, was recently selected as Speaker-designate of the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Shannon will be the first African-American Speaker of the House in state history and will serves as one of the youngest state house leaders in the nation. Shannon is also an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation.

“GOPAC will play a pivotal roll in recruiting and training our next generation of Republican leaders in the coming years, and I can think of no better person than T.W. Shannon to represent Oklahoma and assist in GOPAC’s efforts across the country," Pinnell said.
