Copeland Services To Be Held On Friday

Services for Judy Copeland, Governor Fallin's general counsel, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Edmond, located at the interesection of 33rd and Bryant.

Copeland died Saturday after suffering a stroke on Thursday.

Copeland, 42, was a former assistant U. S. attorney, assistant disrict attorney and assistant attorney general. She also was general counsel to former Governor Frank Keating.

Said Governor Fallin: “Judy was a strong, professional woman and a friend to all who worked with her. She was a superb general counsel as well as a joy to be around. Her passing is a tremendous loss to the state of Oklahoma, and she will be sorely missed by a great many people. I would ask that everyone keep Judy’s husband, her family, my staff and her many friends in their thoughts and prayers. While this is a difficult time, we take comfort in knowing that she has passed on to a better place.”
