Blair Says He'll Seek Clark Jolley's Senate Seat

From NewsRadio 1000 KTOK ~ An Edmond minister, the Reverend Paul Blair, has announced he is taking his conservative values fight from the pulpit to the ballot box, saying he plans to run for the Republican nomination for Senate district 41. The seat is held by Senator Clark Jolley who was just named the new chairman of the State Senate's Appropriations Committee.

Blair's announcement comes a year before Jolley's seat will be up for re-election.

His flier emphasized what he intends to focus upon in his political campaign: "We must stop the overreach of the Federal government. We must stop the crippling debt that is crushing our nation," said Blair in the campaign release. He also said there must be an end to attacks on Christianity and Biblical Values.

Blair is minister of the Fairview Baptist church. He is also a former professional football player who was an offensive lineman for the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings.

Jolley was first elected to the Senate in 2004 and won re-election in 2008.
