Faught, Rowe Lead 2nd District Straw Poll

Republicans in the 2nd Congressional District gathered in McAlester on Saturday and participated in a straw poll measuring support in the race for the party's nomination for Congress.

Poll rules said you had to be a registered voter to participate and pay $1 to do so.

This is the first straw poll with the full field of six announced candidates.

There was a tie for 1st place, with Rep. George Faught and Dustin Rowe at 26 votes each.

Wayne Pettigrew got 18 votes, while Markwayne Mullin got 9 votes and Dakota Woods and Dwayne Thompson got 8 votes each.
