Lankford To Tour Israel, Talk To Leaders

Congressman James Lankford will travel to Israel next week as part of a Congressional delegation led by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), his office said today.

The delegation of 25 members will meet with Israeli leaders, survey strategic locations and discuss ever-changing Middle Eastern relationships. The trip is paid for by the American Israel Education Fund.

“Today’s attacks against the citizens of Israel and the Israeli Defense Forces near its southern border demonstrate that it has never been more important for the United States to stand beside our ally in this challenging period in her history,” said Congressman Lankford. “Our nation faces great domestic challenges here at home, but we must not lose focus on events happening overseas.

“Israel is a crucial ally, and our relationship with them is paramount to promoting peace and stability in the region. This delegation trip will provide firsthand understanding of the issues facing Israel, its relationship with the Palestinians, and ways the United States can make a positive impact throughout the entire region.”
