Dank Asks Tax Exemption Questions

From The Tulsa World ~ A lawmaker leading a task force examining state tax breaks on Wednesday questioned the need for reimbursing schools and counties for property tax revenue they lose to a five-year exemption for manufacturers.

Rep. David Dank, R-Oklahoma City, is co-chairman of the Task Force for the Study of State Tax Credits and Economic Incentives, which is looking at the effectiveness of and need for an array of tax breaks already on the books.

During the panel's second meeting, Dank announced that he has heard requests for new tax credits for charging electric cars, storm shelters and low-income housing.

"By the way, it never ends," Dank said during his opening remarks.
