Coburn's Humor Unsettles Some

Senator Tom Coburn's supposed-to-be-humorous remark about carrying a gun on the Senate floor has liberals screaming.

In remarks during a town hall meeting in Langley on Tuesday, Coburn criticized his congressional colleagues, calling them "cowards" and a "class of career elitists."

"It's just a good thing I can't pack a gun on the Senate floor," Coburn told the crowd, using a common "it's a good thing" phrase.

Liberals screamed. Coburn said he'd apologize personally to anyone who's offended.
