Bartlett Hires TV Newswoman Beth Hawkins
Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett has hired a televison news reporter to develop videos for the city.
Beth Hawkins, who resigned as a reporter from KJRH, channel 2, after nearly six years to take the new job, will be paid $45,000 annually, Communications Department Director Kim MacLeod said. She is an "at will" hire for the mayor, meaning no further approval is necessary.
Hawkins, who also has been a reporter in Oklahoma City and Lawton, as well as in Fort Smith and Fayetteville, Ark., starts next week.
