State Employees Paid $42 Million In Longevity Pay

The Tulsa World's Gavin Off has an interesting story today about the state's employee longevity pay program.

He reports, "Oklahoma paid state employees nearly $42 million in a tenure-like bonus last year regardless of performance, a Tulsa World analysis found. The amount exceeds the payroll totals of 119 of the state's boards, commissions or departments, including the state Department of Environmental Quality, the Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Oklahoma Tax Commission."
