GOP's Pinnell Says Boren Decision An Opportunity

Republican State Chairman Matt Pinnell said today that Democratic Congressman Dan Boren's decision not to seek reelection presents "an opportunity, and one that the OKGOP is already working hard to make a reality next November."

Early reports indicate former Congressman Brad Carson will seek his old seat, Pinnell noted.

"Oklahoma voters have had enough of Democrats like Brad Carson, those that attempt to run as conservatives but legislate like liberals," said Pinnell. "Oklahoma has never been more common-sense conservative than we are today. Brad Carson's brand of conservatism is like Barack Obama's brand of conservatism: just plain liberal. I'm confident voters of the 2nd District will vote the Oklahoma way, not the Obama way."
