Cole, Lankford, Lucas Praise Boren's Service

Republican Congressmen Tom Cole, James Lankford and Frank Lucas today praised Democrat Dan Boren's service in Congress.

Said Cole: "Dan Boren 's decision to retire from the House of Representatives is a real loss for Oklahoma. He has served his constituents and state with skill, decency and integrity. Dan is widely admired on both sides of the aisle, and he will certainly be missed. Throughout his career, he has remained true to his Oklahoma values and roots even when under pressure to toe the party line.

"I consider Dan Boren a friend, as well as a colleague. I certainly wish him, his wife, Andrea, and their two children every success as they move into the next phase of their life. They can be proud of the contribution they've made through Dan's service to our country, our state and the 2nd District of Oklahoma."

Said Lankford: “Dan works incredibly hard for the 2nd District of Oklahoma. He has shown immense dedication as he has traveled across his district to connect, listen and learn from his constituents in an effort to better represent them. During my short five months in office, I have seen firsthand how he has kept his focus on Oklahoma. I wish Dan and his family all the best as they transition back into private life.”

Said Lucas: “I appreciate the hard-work and dedication Rep. Boren has shown while serving Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives over the past six years. His many accomplishments have not gone unnoticed, and he has proven to be a successful leader during his time in office. I respect his decision to not seek reelection, and I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
