House Democrats Retain Present Leadership

House Democrats held caucus elections today and by unanimous vote re-elected their current leadership team to a second term.

Del City Democrat Scott Inman was unanimously re-elected to serve as the Minority Leader of the House. Inman was initially elected to this position in April of 2009 and spent much of 2010 working in this capacity alongside former Democratic Leader Danny Morgan of Prague. When elected at age 30, Inman became the youngest person to lead the House Democrats in state history. He was also noted for being the first Democratic leader elected from Oklahoma County in over 40 years.

The Democratic caucus also unanimously re-elected Rep. Jerry McPeak of Warner as the Democratic Caucus Chair and Rep. Joe Dorman of Rush Springs as the Democratic Caucus Vice-Chair. All three leadership positions will continue after the 2012 General Election and conclude in November of 2014.
