High Noon Club Members Grill Steele

House Speaker Kris Steele was grilled Friday by the "High Noon Club," a conservative group that meets at H&H Gun Range in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoman's Michael McNutt reports, "Social conservatives in the High Noon Club fired questions and comments for more than an hour Friday at House Speaker Kris Steele, complaining how some of their key concerns were shot down this year by Republican legislative leaders.

"Many in the group, including Tom Vineyard, pastor of Windsor Hills Baptist Church asked questions about legislation concerning gun laws, health care, legislative committees and other social issues.

"About a dozen people among the approximately 200 who attended the meeting at the H&H Gun Range, 400 S Vermont, told Steele they were frustrated and angry that measures dealing with the open carrying of handguns, illegal immigration and banning Sharia law — described as Islamic law based on the Quran and the teaching of Mohammed — were bottled up by Republican legislators, some of whom they helped elect."
