Dan Boren Makes Unannounced Iraq Trip

UPDATED: Rep. Dan Boren announced he visited Iraq and Pakistan as part of a congressional delegation led by House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio.

"This trip came at a crucial time for Iraq, as the last U.S. forces are scheduled to depart the country by year's end," the Oklahoma Democrat said, describing the success achieved in providing greater security in Iraq.

"We must ensure that the remaining U.S. military and civilians advising Iraq's security forces and working with its government have the resources necessary to establish long-term success."
