Boettcher Resigns A&M Regents Seat

From http://www.newsok.com/ ~ Ponca City attorney Fred Boettcher said he plans to resign from the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges in hopes that Gov. Mary Fallin will preserve another member's position on the board.

Boettcher said he will give up his position on May 1.

In a statement released Wednesday, Boettcher said he hopes his leaving will encourage Fallin to reappoint Joe Hall, of Elk City, to a second term. His decision assumes Fallin wants to appoint someone new to the board.

Boettcher's vacancy would allow Fallin to reappoint Hall and make her own appointment to the board.

Boettcher has served on the board for two years.

Boettcher said that he decided to resign because Hall is “extremely valuable” to the board, which oversees several schools including Oklahoma State University.
