Reynolds Says Assessors Violate Constitution, Third Of Oklahoma County Owners Being Overcharged

Senator Jim Reynolds of Oklahoma City will hold a Capitol press conference today at 11 to allege that a third of Oklahoma County homeowners are being overcharged on their property taxes, while assessors in 50 of Oklahoma’s 77 counties are in violation of constitutional requirements impacting property taxes.

Reynolds is expected to provide documentation showing that the ad valorem tax system is flawed with uneven assessments and widespread failure to follow the Constitution.
