Democrats Oppose Park Closings

House Democrats voted unanimously today to oppose the closing of any of Oklahoma’s state parks.

Growing discontent over the actions of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department to close seven state parks had led several Democratic members to speak out the last few weeks against the proposed plans.

Minority Leader Scott M. Inman, D-Del City, pressed today for an official caucus position on this issue in order to present a united urban and rural front.
