Number Of Illegal Immigrants Up, Study Reports

The Pew Hispanic Center reports that the combined unauthorized immigrant population of Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas increased from 2007 to 2010.

In Oklahoma, the Center estimates, the number of unauthorized immigrants in Oklahoma grew from 55,000 in 2007 to 75,000 in 2010.

Nationally, numbers declined or leveled off. Nevada, California, Texas and New Jersey had the largest share of unauthorized immigrants in 2010.

There were about 11.2 million unauthorized immigrants nationally in 2010, compared to an estimate of 12 million in 2007.
