McNutt: Why Republicans Swept The State

By Michael McNutt/The Oklahoman ~ Straight-party Republican voters helped GOP statewide candidates record a historic first by winning all the eight offices contested Tuesday.

State Election Board records show that nearly 100,000 more Republicans than Democrats voted a straight-party ticket in the ballot for statewide races.

"Every one of the Republican state officer candidates started out with a 100,000-vote advantage basically based on straight-party voting," said Paul Ziriax, state Election Board secretary.
