McFerron: GOP Majorities May Get Larger

Large Republican majorities in the Oklahoma Legislature have the potential to get even bigger, a leading GOP strategist told the Tulsa Republican Club on Friday.

"Some people on the left want to say this election was an anomaly," said Pat McFerron of CMA Strategies and Cole Hargrave Snodgrass and Associates. "But it was not an anomaly. It was a solidification of who Oklahomans really are."

Reviewing 30 years of polling data, McFerron said Oklahomans are not more conservative than in the past but are more likely to see their own views as being aligned with the Republican Party.

"What has changed is who Oklahoma voters think they are," McFerron said.
