Askins Says She'll Put In More Money

Lt. Governor Jari Askins tells radio station KTOK that she's prepared to put more of her personal money into her campaign for the governor's office. She faces Republican Mary Fallin.

Askins, her Ethics Commission reports show, has loaned her campaign $1,075,000 thus far. That represents not quite half the $2.356 million raised as of August 9th, the date of her last campaign contributions and expenditures report filed with the Ethics Commission.

Askins indicated she finds it amusing that some Republicans are criticizing her for helping to fund her own campaign when her opponent is spending tens of thousands of dollars donated by those in Washington.
