Palin-Backed Tea Party Candidate Wins In Delaware

UPDATED: Riding a wave of conservative anger, Tea Party darling and Sarah Palin-backed Christine O'Donnell shockingly defeated Rep. Mike Castle in Delaware's GOP Senate primary. Meanwhile, New Hampshire's Republican Senate primary was too close to call early Wednesday morning but by Friday,  party-backed candidate Kelly Ayotte was declared the winner over Tea Party-backed Ovid Lamontagne by less than 2,000 votes. And in New York, political novice and tea party ally Carl Paladino defeated the Republican designee in the race for the party's nomination for New York governor. Paladino rode a wave of voter anger on his way to defeating former Congressman Rick Lazio. It's another blow to the GOP in a heavily Democratic state.
