Major Development In 5th District Race?

Republican James Lankford and Independent Dave White (left) will hold a joint news conference at the Republican Party headquarters this morning, indicating a major announcement in the race for Congress in the 5th District.

Immediate speculation is that White will endorse Lankford in the race.

Ballots have already been printed and thus, White's name will appear on the ballot regardless what he annnounces today.

Lankford defeated Kevin Calvey in the GOP runoff to win the nomination. Billy Coyle is the Democratic Party nominee. Independents in the race are White and Clarke Duffe.

White has been registered as a Republican in the past.
