Lankford Dollars Outpace Calvey In Runoff Period

Republican James Lankford, apparently riding the crest of the wave his upset 1st place finish in the 5th District primary generated, has outraised opponent Kevin Calvey by almost 4-to-1 in the runoff period thus far.

Federal Election Commission reports show Lankford, the former Falls Creek Youth Camp director and political novice, has taken in $20,800. Calvey, meanwhile, raised $5,600 through August 7th.

Calvey, the former House member and Iraq veteran, placed second to Lankford in the July primary. The two again appear on ballots in the August 24th runoff.

Lankford has been endorsed by the candidates who placed third and fourth in the primary, Rep. Mike Thompson and Rep. Shane Jett, and by Rick Flanigan, who got a small share of the vote.
