NRA Political Victory Fund Endorses Edmondson

The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) Political Victory Fund has endorsed Attorney General Drew Edmondson in the Democratic primary race for governor.

The NRA is a non-partisan, non-profit organization which advocates protection of the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights and the promotion of firearm ownership rights as well as marksmanship, firearm safety, hunting and self-defense.

“I am pleased to have this important endorsement, which signifies my lifetime commitment to upholding the U.S. Constitution and protecting our Second Amendment freedoms,” Edmondson said.

Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA fund, said Edmondson’s primary endorsement and his “A” rating by the group were based in part on his fundamental support of Oklahoma's “Workplace Protection/Parking Lot” law during the legal battle to enforce it in Oklahoma and federal court.

Edmondson also was praised for the legal briefs he signed, along with other attorneys general, arguing that the Second Amendment guarantees “a fundamental, individual right for all law-abiding Americans,” Cox said.
