NRA-ILA Lauds Fallin, Backs Her Pro-Gun Record

The National Rifle Association's Chris Cox, head of the Institute for Legislative Action, has applauded Congresswoman Mary Fallin's pro-2nd Amendment record.

Cox, in a letter to Fallin released to The McCarville Report Online, wrote, "Throughout your career, as a member of the Oklahoma State Legislature, as Lieutenant Governor and as a member of Congress, you have consistently demonstrated your strong support for our right to keep and bear arms by voting for numerous pro-gun reforms, including efforts to expand concealed carry freedoms in our country's national parks and wildlife refuges; restoring Second Amendment rights to residents in our nation's capital; and protecting hunting land and our hunting heritage for future generations. We also appreciate your signing the congressional amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court in the historic cases of District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. City of Chicago, arguing that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental,
individual right for all law-abiding Americans.

"Thanks again for your support of our right to keep and bear arms. I wish you the best of luck in your primary election."
The NRA's Political Victory Fund has not made an endorsement in the GOP primary for governor. It has endorsed Drew Edmondson in the Democratic primary, giving him an "A" rating compared to Jari Askins' "A-" rating.
