Democrat Meacham Urged GOP's Miller To Run

Democrat Treasurer Scott Meacham confirms that he urged Republican Rep. Ken Miller of Edmond to seek the treasurer's office, KTOK News reports.

"I felt he would be the best person for the job," Meacham told the station's Jacqueline Scott.

Meacham is not seeking reelection this year. He was named treasurer by Governor Henry when then-Treasurer Robert Butkin resigned in 2005.
Also seeking the Republican nomination is Senator Owen Laughlin of Woodward.

Thus far, no Democrat has announced for the post.
