Kevin Calvey’s campaign for Congress announced today that Calvey has earned the endorsement of Vets for Freedom, a leading nationwide non-profit, non-partisan organization of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.
Vets for Freedom is the largest Iraq and Afghanistan veterans’ organization in America. Its mission is to advocate for success on the battlefield by educating and influencing the American public, policymakers and the media on issues of strategy, tactics and military leadership.
The pro-military/pro-veterans group announced its endorsement of Calvey after a thorough review of Oklahoma’s Fifth District congressional race, saying Calvey “will make an immediate impact on Capitol Hill, by adding a much-needed veterans’ perspective to crucial national security issues.”
Calvey served a year in Baghdad as part of the Army's Judge Advocate General's staff prosecuting Iraqi terrorists. He is now on active duty at Camp Gruber.
