Dan Boren Sets Sinqle-Quarter Fundraising Record

Democratic Congressman Dan Boren said today he raised more money for his reelection campaign in the first quarter than in any previous quarter since his election in 2004.

Boren said he raised a total of $490,564.90 for the first quarter, which provides him with $1.8 million in cash on-hand.

Approximately 90 percent of the individual contributions, 569 in total, came from Oklahomans, he said.

Boren won reelection in 2006 and 2008 by wide margins. Polls have shown him in a dominant position going into this year's election.

A number of Republicans seek their party's nomination this year; thus far, no Democratic Party challenger to Boren has emerged.

The Republicans include Dan Arnett, Daniel Edmonds, Howard Houchen and Charles Thompson.
