Reynolds Questions Caucus Use Of State Facilities

Rep. Mike Reynolds has asked Attorney General Drew Edmondson for a legal opinion on the use of state-owned facilities by political caucuses.

Reynolds' request followed a letter from a member of his own Republican Caucus, Rep. Ken Miller of Edmond, who wrote to members on House stationary about his campaign to become speaker of the House. Miller and Rep. Kris Steele of Shawnee seek the speaker's seat. Reynolds said his request was not directed at Miller.

Reynolds said he wants to know if it's constitutional to use state-owned computers and envelopes to support caucus issues.

Reynolds says he doesn't understand how the Republican and Democratic caucuses in the Legislature can use state resources for their own benefit.
