Jones Dominates Online Poll
Gary Jones dominated our poll of possible replacements for former Auditor & Inspector Jeff McMahan. The Republican Party chairman, defeated by McMahan in 2002 and 2006, was selected by 51 percent of the almost 300 who voted. Democrat Robert Butkin was selected by 16 percent. Acting Auditor Michelle Day, a Republican, was selected by 11 percent. "None of the above" got 10 percent. Democrat Laura Boyd got 6 percent, "Any Democrat" got 6 percent and only one voter picked "Any Republican." Governor Henry will pick McMahan's replacement.
