Faught Seeks Penalty For Uninsured Motorists

Legislation to penalize uninsured drivers advanced from a House subcommittee today in a move lawmakers hope will encourage more Oklahomans to purchase auto insurance.

House Bill 3380, by Rep. George Faught, would limit insurance awards for uninsured drivers involved in an accident.

"It's just common sense. People should not be rewarded for driving without insurance," said Faught, R-Muskogee.
