Tulsa Judge Takes No Action On Immigration Law
U.S. District Judge James Payne in Tulsa has taken no action to prevent the state's controversial anti-illegal immigration law from going into effect Thursday. At the conclusion of a Wednesday hearing, where opponents of the law had sought a preliminary injunction blocking House Bill 1804, Payne did nothing to stop it from taking effect as scheduled. While Payne could still act up to midnight to stop the law from going into effect, it appears he will not block the law.
