KWTV's GOP Ethics 'Mystery Man'
KWTV in Oklahoma City last week featured, as part of its continuing series of reports on the Ethics Commission probe of Republican "Victory Fund" fundraising, an in-the-shadows, voice-distorted male who purports to know a great deal about the subject.
The "expert" figure appeared again tonight, in yet another report, and his identity is rapidly becoming the story. The use of the shadowy figure has many trying to figure out, or guess, who it is. For the record, here's who I know it is not: Me (I don't have that much hair). Gary Jones (Neither does he). Chad Alexander (Voice pattern is wrong). Keith Gaddie (His hair isn't in that style and the voice pattern is wrong). Chris Wilson (Ditto). Tom Cole (Ditto). Calvin Rees (Ditto plus). Lance Cargill (Obvious). My neighbor. My grandsons. Glenn Coffee (Wrong hair, voice pattern is wrong). Bill Shapard (Bill's bigger than this guy). Blaise Labbe (Channel 9's news director). Gary England (Channel 9's weather guru). I don't have a clue who it is. So quit asking me. Ask Channel 9. (Does the Ethics Commission have subpoena power, and would it do any good if it does, journalistic ethics and all?)
