House Passes Military Tax Exemption Bill
The State House today passed House Bill 1446 by Rep. Fred Jordan, R-Tulsa, that would exempt Oklahoma military servicemen and women from the state income tax. The measure reportedly would impact about 20,000 Oklahomans who serve in uniform. At present, only the first $1,500 in military pay is exempt from the state tax.
