Former Oklahoma County DA Bob Macy Dead

Bob Macy, for 21 years the tough-minded Oklahoma County district attorney, has died.

Macy, 81, had been in ill health since leaving the DA's office in 2001.

Macy was known as one of the most ardent advocates of the death penalty for violent criminals.

Wearing his trademark black suit, white shirt and black or blue bolo tie or western bowtie, Macy often went into court carrying his sidearm on his hip.
