Bartlett Names Jarred Brejcha Chief Of Staff

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett...will name 28-year-old Jarred Brejcha to be his new chief of staff, filling the vacancy left by Terry Simonson.

Brejcha (pronounced BRAY-ha) joined the Mayor's Office in September as the director of governmental affairs and enterprise development.

"I certainly didn't think I'd be getting a promotion three months later, but this is an opportunity and a challenge that I'm ready for," he said in an interview with the Tulsa World.

He'll be paid $125,000 per year.

Brejcha has been Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman's communications director after heading the Republican Senatorial Committee's efforts last year.

'Pro-English' Group Targets Patrick Anderson

Republican Senator Patrick Anderson of Enid's opposition to English-only legislation is being targeted in a radio commercial that began airing on Enid stations over the weekend.

He's among those who disagree with Rep. Randy Terrill's "official English" plan.

Sapulpa Republican Senator Brian Bingman was targeted in a full-page newspaper ad in Sunday's edition of the Sapulpa Herald.

The State Chamber of Oklahoma has distributed a memo opposing Terrill's resolution, claiming it will deter trade, commerce and tourism.

OIPA Honors Brian Bingman

Senator Brian Bingman, R-Sapulpa, has been named "Legislator of the Year" by the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association.

He was cited for his sponsorship of Senate Bill 1475, which will create research program at colleges and universities focusing on oil and natural gas exploration and production.
