Mitch Daniels Mulls 2012 Presidential Race
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, urged by many to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012, says he's not a candidate now.
"I don't think I'll have a different answer, but ask me in a year," Daniels said.
The Hoosier hinted at one factor that those close to him say may ultimately be a factor in why he doesn't run: His wife isn't enthused about the idea.
Joking about his previously having "cracked the door a little bit" to a White House bid, Daniels said his wife, Cheri, told a local reporter: "'When he gets home tonight, the door may not be cracked.'"
