Republican congressional candidate James Lankford said today that with passage of the federal healthcare bill, "America will move from walking toward socialism to running toward socialism. "Now the difficult work of planning the repeal of the health bill and its effects must begin. Legislation must be passed to halt the IRS expansion into insurance payments and before the more than 100 new federal health agencies can be created. Robbing Medicare, increasing taxes, expanding the size of government and punishing profitable companies was not the change that conservative Oklahomans desired."
Earlier, former Rep. Kevin Calvey, also seeking the GOP nomination for Congress in the 5th District, began airing commercials in which he said, “Congress does a lot of bad things, but the Obama/Pelosi bill is one of the worst ideas we’ve seen in generations. There are so many horrible things about this bill: higher taxes, more debt, taxpayer-funded abortions, backroom deals to buy off politicians, government getting in between doctors and patients. It’s a complete disaster.”
