For Shane Jett, It's DC...Or Korea Or Hawaii

Republican Rep. Shane Jett of Tecumseh today will announce that he's a candidate for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 5th District.
If he wins the GOP primary, and a likely runoff, and the general election, he'll go to Washington.
If he loses at any step along the way, he'll go to Korea or Hawaii.
Jett joined the Naval Reserve last year and owes Uncle Sam a year of full-time service, his hometown newspaper reported.
If elected to Congress, he would be granted “S” status and not have to report to active duty, but state legislators get no such break.
He said he would probably be called for active duty around the first of next year anyway, and would then have to resign his legislative seat, which he is relinquishing to run for Congress.
Thus, the Navy has a job waiting for him if he’s not elected.
“I’ve already been recruited to join the 7th Fleet in Hawaii or the war games in Korea,” Jett, a linguist and world traveler, told a reporter.
Jett's announcement will end months of speculation he'd enter the race. A week ago, TMRO reported he was poised to announce.
Jett enters an already-crowded field of GOP candidates. Announcing previously were former Rep. Kevin Calvey, Rep. Mike Thompson, political newcomer James Lankford, Dr. Johnny Roy of Edmond and Rick Flanigan of Bethany.
