CNN Poll: Voters See Obama Loss In 2012
From Politics Daily ~ A majority of voters are betting that President Obama will lose a bid for re-election in 2012, according to a CNN/Opinion Research poll conducted March 19-21.
Fifty-four percent say he will lose, 44 percent say he will win and 2 percent have no opinion.
The CNN poll says a generic Republican candidate is running evenly with Obama whether the measure is all adults or registered voters.
A bunch of pollsters this week have weighed in this week on Obama's prospects for 2012 with similar results. Among all adults, Obama leads the unnamed Republican 48 percent to 46 percent with 4 percent preferring another choice and 2 percent undecided. That's a statistical tie given the survey's 3 point margin of error. Among registered voters, Obama and the Republican are tied at 47 percent each with 4 percent wanting another option and 2 percent undecided.
Several pollsters have also been asking Republicans who their favorite is to be the GOP presidential candidate in 2012 and the results have all pointed to Mitt Romney. Romney leads with 22 percent, followed by Sarah Palin at 18 percent, Mike Huckabee at 17 percent, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul at 8 percent each and all others at 5 percent or less.
