Indicted Skeith's Donations Top $164,000

If money is the mother's milk of politics, Capitol lobbyist Andrew "Andy" Skeith apparently owns the dairy.

Skeith, indicted by a federal grand jury for his alleged involvement (which his attorney denies) in a conspiracy which FBI agents claim saw payments totaling more than $400,000 to former Senate President Pro Tem Mike Morgan in return for his support of certain measures favorable to Skeith's clients (which Morgan's attorney denies), has donated at least $164,000 to Republican and Democrat candidates and committees in the past four years, Ethics Commission records show.

The sum indicates Skeith operates one of the most lucrative lobbying operations at the Capitol.

Skeith, Morgan and attorney N. Martin Stringer are charged together with two counts of conspiracy, one count of extortion and 59 counts of mail fraud.
