House Passes CareerTech Firearms Storage Measure

The House has passed a bill that allows CareerTech students, teachers and visitors who have licenses to carry concealed weapons to store their firearms in their vehicles while they attend class.

House Bill 1652 passed the House by a vote of 84-14 and advances to the Senate.

Rep. John Enns of Enid said his bill will allow those with concealed carry licenses to bring their guns on CareerTech campuses as long as the weapons remain locked in vehicles. He said 34 states have similar measures.
