A. H. Strategies, Majority Designs Win 3 Awards

Oklahoma City-based consulting firms A.H. Strategies and Majority Designs won three Pollies for direct-mail advertising at the American Association of Political Consultants award ceremony in Washington, D.C.

The Pollies are described as "The Oscars of Political Advertising."

Most notable was the Silver Pollie for biographical mail pieces in the campaign of Senator David Holt in northwest Oklahoma City. The mailers were large foldouts that told Holt's personal story, winning first place in the category "Direct Mail in a Republican State Legislative Primary Campaign."

The firms also won a Silver Pollie for a "Get Out the Vote" mailer in the Tulsa School bond election, and a Bronze Pollie for the independent expenditure direct mailer done in the defeat of incumbent Democrat Rep. Dennis Bailey. The latter mail piece exploited Bailey's vote against displaying the Ten Commandments at the state Capitol, and helped elect the first Republican ever to hold that particular seat in Little Dixie.

"These national awards are significant because they celebrate the creative work of our team, which we believe to be among the best in the country," said Trebor Worthen, managing partner of Majority Designs. "We are thankful for clients who allow us the flexibility to design the kind of campaign materials that win awards, but more importantly, win campaigns."
