Bartlett Defends Self In Response To Fallin

From The Tulsa World ~ Mayor Dewey Bartlett is sending Gov. Mary Fallin his response to ouster claims in anticipation of her making a decision Friday on whether to have the matter investigated, he said Wednesday.

“I’m very sorry this is happening,” Bartlett told the Tulsa World about City Councilor John Eagleton’s effort to remove him from office.

“It’s totally unnecessary.” But, Bartlett said, he wants the governor to have his answers to Eagleton’s allegations by Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, Fallin said she expects to decide by the end of the week whether to agree to Eagleton’s request and direct state Attorney General Scott Pruitt to investigate his allegations.

About three weeks ago, Eagleton sent Fallin a formal letter requesting an investigation into 10 claims involving alleged misconduct, malfeasance and criminal behavior by the mayor
