Lankford Says Budget Cut Pledge Fulfilled

Congressman James Lankford:
Now it's time for the Senate
to do the same thing
Congressman James Lankford says the House has approved a budget that fulfills the pledge of Republicans to cut spendingl.

“For far too long, Congress has delayed the hard decisions of cutting spending while promising tomorrow would be different,” said Lankford. “Tomorrow has arrived in the House of Representatives. Republicans have fulfilled our pledge to cut wasteful spending such as defunding ObamaCare, rescinding unspent stimulus funds and cutting old earmarks like whaling education in Mississippi. Real leadership requires sacrifices for the sake of our children’s future. This vote sends a clear message that the status quo will no longer be accepted and the future for fiscal responsibility is now.

“The House has performed its duty to keep the federal government running. Republicans have held up their end of the bargain; it’s more than past time for our colleagues across the Capitol to pass a serious plan that begins to get our deficits under control and ensures our government stays on track.”
