Fallin To Unveil Budget, Other Proposals Today

Mary Fallin's historic journey as Oklahoma's first female governor takes another step today as the former congresswoman delivers her inaugural State of the State address.

She is scheduled to address the Legislature at 12:30 p.m. The speech will be broadcast on television and radio.

Much attention will be paid to Fallin's remarks on the state's present budget shortfall, and how it will be dealt with. She's already revealed she'll ask state agencies to take budget cuts of 5 percent. She's also likely to stress her ideas on government consolidation to save money.
