Democratic Leader Judy Melson Dead Of Cancer

Former 5th District Federation of Democratic Women president Judy Melson of Seminole has died of cancer at 77.

Mrs. Melson, wife of former District Judge and current Seminole County Democratic Party Chairman Gordon Melson, was diagnosed with cancer in December and underwent surgery in January.

Mrs. Melson was a former employee of Moran Oil Company and later owned Ada Travel Service, Inc. which she sold before retiring in 2000.

Services are today at First United Methodist Church of Seminole at 10 a.m. under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
